About Gwinto
Built by people who runbusinesses in Africa too.
Gwinto started because launching software in Africa was harder than it should be — card-first payment rails that ignore M-Pesa, hosting billed in dollars, and tools built for someone else’s market. We kept rebuilding the same plumbing for every new idea.
So we built the platform we wanted: one place to deploy payments, e-commerce, household management, email, and AI — billed in KES and managed for you. The dashboard you're reading this on is the same one we use every day.
Principles
How we think about the work.
Stay close to the customer
We talk to the founders and teams who use Gwinto every month. The product changes when we see people struggling with it, not when a roadmap says so.
Boring infrastructure
Per-tenant isolation. Every action audited. No exotic dependencies. Backups verified by restoring them, not by checking a green tick.
Small team, direct contact
When you contact support, you reach an engineer who can read the code. No queues, no escalation theatre.
Africa-first
Built for KES and mobile money, Kenyan and African data-protection law, and the latency of customers across the continent. Local is the default, not a plugin.
Honest about what we can't do
If your business needs something we don't do well, we'll say so on the first call and point you somewhere better.
Your data, exportable always
CSV / JSON / SQL dumps. No lock-in. We charge for value, not for keeping you trapped.
